My wife and I spent our anniversary in San Antonio this weekend, and before we jumped in the car at the hotel and headed back home, we decided to walk downtown for lunch. As we walked down town a man stopped us and talked to us about The Buckhorn and told us it was an old saloon with quite a bit of history, and they had really good burgers. He went on to tell us about all the different game animals they had, which caught my attention being an avid hunter, then he said there was a Texas Ranger museum in it with some neat artifacts, now he's speaking my language being a huge history buff and all. What I'm getting at, is my wife and I ended our anniversary weekend at The Buckhorn and what an experience it was. i ordered the Buckhorn burger (highly recommend it) and my wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger (also recommend it), and as we waited on our food to arrive we had a very informative talk with the bartender about the history behind the bar itself, and a brief history lesson on the saloon itself and how it came about. After our meal we spent the next two hours looking through the museum (which has way more than just a Texas Ranger section). It was a very fun experience. The employees are really friendly and are willing to answer questions. I highly recommend making a stop by The Buckhorn during your trip to San Antonio I promise you won't regret it!!! I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I went while on a three day stay just before Christmas. We were a little hesitant after hearing how much it cost, but it was well worth it. The museum was full of wonders and interesting animals and such. We especially enjoyed the Texas Rangers Museum. We also had the Cowboy Plate in their diner. The bbq sauce was excellent and we received a 10% discount by showing our ticket stub. Another great thing to note, your ticket is good for 2 days! Definitely hope to come back and bring family members next time!

My first time there. I found it very interesting. The Buckhorn burger was good and fries were great. The attraction part was really fun. My kids loved the animals and freak show part the most. I liked the Texas Rangers area. Would come again as a once in a year event.

Went went in on a rainy day we planed on going to the zoo. The kids enjoyed it and it took about an hour to walk through. The ticket to get in was about 18 a person. Lots of stuffed animals and you can get close to them without touching. They enjoyed getting to look a lot closer at some things they have only seen from far away at zoo. The ranger exhibit was col. The sideshow exhibit was a little scary for my kids, all under 6. They did like the fun house at the end. We had lunch in the saloon after. They had live music and the kids got to look at more animals on the wall while we had lunch.my $11 burger was good. I would recommend if you are looking to get out of the rain or the heat.
