With its quaint and woody interior, the Ship's Inn is a solid no-frills restaurant with great specials, and it's definitely worth a visit to anyone visiting the beautiful town of Northport.

We went in for their lunch special - $10.95 (cash only for this deal) snags you a choice of at least ten different lunch options ranging from sole francese to eggplant rollatini, to some tasty crab cakes. Sure, they've got some sandwiches tossed on there for good lunch measure, but the real value lies with the fork 'n knife plates.

Ww ordered the steak & shrimp special, the stuffed sole special, and the aforementioned sole francese. Despite being ordered medium rare, the prime rib came out a tad well done, but was still well-seasoned and delightful to scarf down. They tossed three shrimp on a skewer, which made for a nice mini surf & turf-esque meal. The sole francese was juicy and topped with a nice lemon sauce, but the stuffed sole was the real show-stealer! That came out packed with a delicious stuffing and topped with a creamy sauce. All three meals came with veggie and starch to round out the experience (check out pics of all plates below). We split a bowl of chunky seafood bisque to start it all off and that was quite tasty as well.

Food is excellent for the price, and service was friendly and efficient throughout the meal...for the lunch special alone, I'd recommend Ship's Inn for your next Northport meal!
