A huge beer list poured by tapsters with "character" in "classic" "dark-wood" surrounds qualifies this "laid-back" Irish saloon as a bona fide NoHo standby; the "deceptively large" digs are handy for a swift nip, but "don't be surprised if you end up staying longer."

I've not had any food there, but then again this is a bar. Self-styled as an Irish pub and emulating Johnathan Swift, they have great beer, better whiskey and fun publicans. Not much sitting space in the front, you'll have to go to the back for a table--this ruddy atmosphere makes one feel like they are sowing seeds of satire. Although not an indecent proposal make sure you're ready for standing shoulder to shoulder with many an avid bar goer.

I went here on a date on a Friday night, and it was about as crowded as one would expect a quality bar to be around that time. However, it wasn't obnoxiously noisy, and it was a pretty cool crowd. Good place for a bar date, in my opinion. It doesn't have any TVs playing sports, so whether you consider that a plus or a minus is up to you.

I hosted a birthday party here on a Saturday night. It was a great venue. Good food, good beer selection. Very accommodating staff. Highly recommend.

An Irish pub with a great atmosphere and plenty of space, Swift is a nice place to get away from that New York rush. The long bar up front, paired with a lounging area makes for a great social area.

My friends and I sat in the back, where the majority of the seating is, and ordered all manner of drinks and share-able foods. When it comes to pub food, Swift hits a home run: the fries with their delicious curry sauce, artichoke spinach pizza, and traditional tomato and mozzarella pizza - I almost forgot I was in a pub!

It also had a nice neighborhood feel to it - next to our group was a couple playing scrabble and enjoying a late lunch.

Walking into Swift with a bunch of friends, it almost felt like everyone stopped their casual conversations to look at a large group of folks walking in on a quiet Sunday afternoon, but we were quickly welcomed with warm smiles from everyone before they continued their conversations. The long wooden bar (clearly a favorite of mine) is gorgeously detailed and there is a seating area up front that comfortably fits 10-14 folks.

The bartender was friendly and directed us to the back room, where he thought we would be more comfortable. We found a big open space with booths around the room and a long picnic table down the middle. Our group chose the picnic table, with framed chalkboards on either side displaying their offerings. It's a bit overwhelming but great, to have your choices out in the open. They serve everything from Bud Light to Ommegang White to Original Sin Cider to every alcohol under the sun.

We also ordered a few appetizers: tomato and mozzarella pizza, artichoke and spinach pizza, mini cheeseburgers and fries with curry sauce. Each plate was more delicious than the last, which is way more than I have ever said about other Irish pubs/bars.
