"Eat where the chefs eat" at this "self-assured" Downtown Eclectic eatery by Isaac Becker delivering "pitch-perfect flavor combinations" (including "terrific takes on comfort-food favorites") in a "casual", "convivial" atmosphere with "excellent" service; it's a "tough reservation", but "lucky" diners love that there's a "price point for everyone with top-notch food at every tier" – plus it's "open late."

Tres leche here is amazing.

Mushroom and Scallops... sooo good. I don't know how they make it.

TL;DR: Layout is extremely confusing. Everyone was rude. Food didn't sound very good. I left.

Full story: Visiting Minneapolis, everyone I asked recommended 112. Their website wouldn't accept reservations, so I called in and made a reservation for just me (1 person). I arrived right on time, and immediately was confused about the door which had no sign and had the appearance of an apartment lobby. Once in the blank hallway, there was a tiny sign next to the first side-door that said "112 eatery". I walked in and was confused again; no host kiosk, no host staff, just a smallish room with waiters and tables and a bar. A waitress gave me a weird look and I asked about a reservation. She disappeared while I stood in the middle of the restaurant. Meanwhile a group of 3 ladies tried to enter but it was too crowded and confused for the 4 of us to mill around there, so they went back to the hallway. Next a woman and her young son walked in, and right away I could see she was confused. She looked over at me and asked what to do, but I didn't know either. Another lady (who I presume was the hostess) walked up to us and I told her about my reservation (which was 7 minutes ago at this point). She disappeared for 3 minutes while I stood next to the woman with her son. The lady came back, said "take the elevator to the 2nd floor, they'll be expecting you".

So I walked down the rest of the crooked unmarked hallway and observed a sign "see hostess first". What hostess? I took the small elevator up 1 floor, walked out, and immediately was confused again. No kiosk or host in sight; to my left was a a room with tables, wait staff, and a bar; to to my right was another unmarked hallway. I wander to the bar and calmly wait for a man at a terminal to finish a phone call. When he's done, I tell him about my reservation for 10 minutes ago. He leads me to a 4-top (reservation for 1...) though I can see quite a few other open tables, including 2-tops. He drops 2 menus on the table (reservation for 1...) and as he's walking away, calls out "enjoy your dinner".

I sit, get comfortable, and a waitress walks over with 2 glasses of water (reservation for 1...). I say "Hi!" and she glances at me, then walks away without a word. The man who seated me comes back a couple minutes later and piles up 2 of the place settings and takes them away, but doesn't look at me and doesn't say anything.

I consider what beer to order and browse the menu but nothing particularly stood out to me. 5 minutes passed and nobody came back to the table, so I just left. I saw both the man who seated me and the water girl as I walked out, neither said anything or gave me a second look.

1/10. Would not visit again.

Arrived for our reservation and then was seated 20 minutes later. We then ordered our appetizer and after about 20 minutes I got up to find someone to find our waitress. We had been trying to find her so we could place our entree orders and get a few drinks. Due to the lack of attention and awareness of our server I decided it was time to go. Shortly after a manager asked if I wanted my appetizer still....(after 30 minutes of waiting?) I replied no thank you. There was no apology for the lack of service or time we had wasted. Very disappointed.
