Consistently delicious. Queso fundido, carne asada and el jefe are their strongest menu items IMO.

One thing to note about 1492 is that the food is definitely Spanish as opposed to Mexican. I really like their use of fresh ingredients and, while the spice was a little more than I had previously experienced, the flavors mingled nicely into a wonderful take on some old favorites.

Excellent food with a side of hair. There we all are. Enjoying a nice appetizer of chips and salsa, and boy is it so tasty. They bring out our queso fundido and mmmmmm. It is to die for. Until someone finds a nice foot long hair, with attached lint for dramatic effect. But never fear, they bring us a whole new bowl and still charge the 8.95 for it.

So we all decide to continue and order our entrées. They sure are tasty. I keep half of mine for leftovers the next day. As i am forking the food onto my plate, i find yet another, nice long hair. Yummy!

So if you enjoy great food with a bunch of hair and lint in it, this is the place for you!

I have dined here about 4 times now. And every time the service, food and atmosphere are great. I will be coming here once a week from now on.

The food looked great and sounded even better, the taste however was lacking. I had the Ribeye with Chimmichury (sp) sauce and my husband had the signature pork shoulder. Both were blah, they were beautiful to look at but had almost no flavor. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was nice, but the food just didn't stand up. The plantains however, were awesome!
