2 Vine, Rochester, New York Restaurant Details

Food:

Worst experience ever! My boyfriend spent all this time researching restaurants in Rochester to find the perfect place for Valentine's day. The website had NOTHING about a special menu for Valentine's day only. When we finally got seated (after waiting an extra 15 minutes despite having a reservation) there was only one menu and you had to pay $60 a person for a 4 course meal. The restaurant did not give any heads-up on this overpriced menu. With all of this being said, I still tried to think positively about the food ...but that was the worst part. The appetizer was very small with no good flavor, the salad course was literally just leaves and a dressing, and our chicken main dish was all bone! On top of that, my boyfriend found a hair in his chicken!!! The only good part about the meal was the gelato dessert (which we weren't even planning on getting but were forced to due to "fixed price menu"). Not once did the server ask how our meal was because I would have told him exactly what I thought - that I hated every bit of it. I do not recommend this place unless you want to pay an extreme price for some of the worst food. My boyfriend and I joked before getting to the restaurant about going to McDonalds for Valentine's Day. Sad thing is, we didn't realize at the time that McDonalds would have actually been a better experience and meal.

2 vine is really a quite good restaurant. It's a great option for me when good luck isn't open. It's a little more traditional but serves really great cocktails and very good food. There's an older crowd at 2 vine and its not open quite as late as good luck but still really enjoy coming here. Has a sort of French inspired menu, and good seafood.

The food is ok, but not worth the expensive price. Inside is so noisy, people have to scream to be heard. Not a good place for quite dates/ quite conversations... go there if you like pub's enviromnent but you want to feel you are in fancy, sit-down pub. As for parking, be careful with your car -- just last night (9/13/2012), my car got hit on the passenger's door (probably by someone leaving the restaurant drunk). Now besides the expensive check for the food, I was left with my car damaged.

OMG Luv 2vine! Big city cuisine & atmosphere! Truly a Rochester gem! Go there now and thank me later!

Been to 2 Vine twice. Food was great both times, it is hard to find food like this in the area. The corn chowder is delicious! Service is wonderful compared to most places around as well!
