We just stopped in for a glass of wine so I can't comment on the food at all. Our waiter didn't really know her wine list very well, although she did offer us a sample of a couple of the wines we were interested in. The selections we ended up with were fine, and not the ones we had tasted. The bench seating was fairly uncomfortable so all in all we won't be rushing back

Cool place, nothing crazy. They had ABSRDST downstairs though, so they've got pretty good taste.

I've been here before but it was for a event. I got a Groupon some time ago wanting to try this place out. The menu items seem very good. There weren't many options but a variety that's enough for everyone. The price is a bit on the higher end so you'd expect the food to be somewhat pretty good.

We ordered the mussels to share, which was very good. It was cooked just right, not overcooked where the meat was still tender and moist. It also came with 2 thin slices of grilled bread which was the best I've had.

I ordered the Filet Mignon which came with mash and asparagus. The meat was more on the Rare side that I ordered but it was better than if it was overcooked so I was ok with it. The mashed was very creamy. The Asparagus wasn't as good as I would have liked. You can taste the vinegar on asparagus and it wasn't necessary since it was grilled.

My daughter ordered the Pasta con Frutti de Mare, which came with half a lobster (this was not specified in the menu) shrimp, scallops (a few VERY thing slices, again not specified in menu), over roasted tomatoes, basil in a Lobster saffron sauce with house made pasta. The dish was very tasty. The pasta was fresh and firm. The menu didn't say much about lobster but was hopeful it was a whole tail but it was only half. The dish by itself was very good.

For Dessert we ordered the cheesecake which was topped with pineapples and asian pear bits in a pineapple sauce, i think. The dish, again was very good. The cheesecake wasn't too creamy-like nor heavy so it was very tasty.

The service - this was where I was disappointed. The waitress seem like she was in her late teens, early 20s. She came around and poured water. It took awhile before we ordered and she wasn't coming back to the dining room to help or make eye contact with us. I can see her cleaning around the bar from where I sat. My daughter had to raise her hand to get her attention. After we ordered, she brought soem bread slices over. The bread was warm and slightly toasted with a plate of olive oil. It was very good. We were now starving so we ate the bread pretty quickly. It took her another 10 minutes before we had to call her attention again and asked for more bread. The Appetizer didn't come out until 20 minutes later. We finished it within 10 mins and we sat in silence as we waited for our entrees to come out. She returned a couple of times to ask how the food was. Finally we were ready for the bill. I gave her the groupon as we ordered Dessert.

When the bill came, everything was taken off as it should, except there was a 18% gratuity added. Not that I mind much about it being added but it's the principle of me, as the customer, wanting to give the amount I felt appropriate for my dinner experience.

In my previous experience with dining with my friends we've always been generous tippers, averaging 18-20% depending on the places we go. I asked the waitress why was gratuity added it. She said it was company policy for groupon users. That again made my heart sink. What if i wanted to give more because service was great? you've just lost out on money. This was just not exactly the best service considering we sat there for 2 hours and we were the only 2 people in the entire dining room, and only a handful of people at the bar side.

I was extremely disappointed in the service although food was pretty good. This was the reason why i gave it 2 stars. It would have been 4, if gratuity wasn't added and service was friendlier and more attentive.

A fun restaurant, don't let the decor fool you, it's not as formal as it first looks. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food menu isn't huge but they serve a nice selection of items. Everything on our table was cooked perfectly and was very tasty.

From the outside looking in, I was concerned 49 Social was a bit too fancy for our casual after-work (and for some, after workout) crowd, but they immediately greeted us with a smile, confirming no dress code. The four of us enjoyed a meal of filet mignon and salmon, both of which were cooked perfectly. (Don't judge us for eating the same items!) Great wine selection, super friendly staff and attentive management.
