I went there for my wife's 50th and we thought it was very very nice

Courteous service and delicious food, but if you've been to the original Ruth's Chris in New Orleans or their second location in Baton Rouge, the atmosphere in the Seattle restaurant didn't meet my expectations. It's very nice and posh, but for a steakhouse I prefer the old fashioned charm and decor and more personal touch from the staff, who always greeted you formally by name. Everything here is too new and flashy. The restaurant is also quite loud, due I guess to its size and openness. For my money in Seattle I'd rather eat at something more typically northwestern than this Southern franchise.

Outstanding food, outstanding service, and if they can do a thing, they will, they don't hide behind a wall of "that's just our policy" (which drives me crazy!). They'll go above and beyond if they can. For example, last night (*Valentine's* Day), my fiancee and I had been unable to get a reservation at any of their locations, but we decided to see if there was room at the bar. It was pretty early in the evening, and they said we could sit anywhere in the bar section we wanted. Before we did, someone came back and said they actually had a few tables available in the atrium, if we wanted to sit there (we did). We had a lot of space to ourselves and a window, and from there it was friendly, extremely professional service the whole night. The male servers didn't even glance at my breasts, and the female servers were funny and sweet.

The food came out in shockingly little time, as if someone ran our orders back and they began working on them immediately, but we never felt rushed. I had the "Classics" combination, so I got a mind-bendingly good top sirloin steak, tomato bisque, creamed spinach, and chocolate torte all for $55. My fiancee had the spicy fried lobster, T-bone steak, potatoes au gratin, and some (apparently) excellent wine. We were both absolutely stuffed when we left. Speaking as a rancher's granddaughter and a Montanan, Ruth's Chris is still the best steak I've ever had, and I've certainly paid much more for much worse. It looked like all the lady guests got roses on their way out, which is very sweet (we were pretty close to the door, and didn't pass the reservation desk). I kind of imagined myself being slowly dragged out of the restaurant, flinging dollar bills and compliments behind me as I went.

Thank you for making our evening so special! :3

Another time Ruth's Chris made something really special: In Southern CA, I'd just found out I was accepted to my dream school (a long-shot), and my dad decided last-minute to take me someplace nice to celebrate. I was humiliated to walk into such a formal restaurant wearing a bathing suit, a substantially informal cover, and flip-flops (my dad couldn't naturally care less about what he or anyone else is wearing, ever). They weren't the least bit perturbed, and perhaps sensing my embarrassment, found us a relatively private table. I think they would have served us equally as respectfully if I'd been wearing diamonds and a ballgown. They asked if there was a special occasion, and my dad told them. After our meal, our server brought us a complimentary berries and cream dessert, with "Congratulations!" written in chocolate on the plate. It wasn't even a "we thought it was some kid's birthday and made this, but they left and you can have it," or something arranged by my dad. It was so thoughtful! Gestures like that mean the world to me. I have many fond memories at various Ruth's Chris Steakhouses, and I know I'll have many more in the future.

I had filet mignon. It was incredibly delicious! Staff helped me with my anniversary plans! Had the table prepared and also the desert plates. So happy we went there! Will go again!

Decent service, just a little bit too slow for me. I believe their motivation is for you to be able to enjoy your meal and not bother you too much but I like being in and out of a restaurant within an hour. Food was delicious, nice presentation and they added a personal touch for my love's birthday. Meal and drinks for two totalled 140.00, that's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, I think it's a bit overpriced.
