Surprisingly good Turkish food is yours at this reliable Upper Eastsider where the prices are affordable and the noise level manageable; those who shrug nothing exceptional cite drab decor and spotty service.

Delicious middle eastern fare on the upper east side. I usually get their Adana kebab, and it is quite good. Service is impeccable and the decor is simple and stylish. I feel that their prices might be a little steep for the quantity of food that they provide, but that's not always unsurprising on the upper east side, and the quality of food makes up for it. I've actually sat down and eaten here only a couple of times, but keep ordering food to go. They seldom disappoint.

I am turkish and I do love turkish pizza (lahmacun). Lahmacun is a very unique kind of pizza and really hard to prepare. One special kind called antep lahmacun is my favourite which has the topping of mix of ground lamb, shreded tomatoes, garlic, parsley etc. on very thin and crispy pizza bread. I could not find a decent one at the west coast. Here you can find antep lahmacuns matching quality of the best ones made in Turkey. Excellent job a la turka!

3 lahmacuns are more than enough for one and the price is $15. Totally worth it.

If you are a vegetarian you can also try pides (thinner and longer type of pizza) with cheese and mushrooms.
