All of the ingredients for a "great night out" can be found at this "small" Ukrainian Village Italian, from "wonderful comfort food", including some of the "best gnocchi in the city", to "knowledgeable" staffers who are "attentive, but not obtrusive"; if the dining room doesn't get the same high marks, there's always the "lovely" outdoor courtyard.

Service and the kitchen are both super slow, hard to tell who was more at fault. From the time we sat down to the time our entree arrived it was almost an hour. It took about 10 minutes before someone came to our table for the first time, 15 minutes before we had water or bread. Once we ordered from the Piattiani menu, which were uncooked appetizers took about 20 minutes to get our table. If the service had been better the food would have made it a 3 or 4 star contender.

Duck Proscuitto - Thin, small slices glazed in balsamic. They almost had a bacon like taste

Burrata - Smooth and creamy mozzarella, always a solid choice at a nice Italian restaurant

Cured Salmon - If you like smoked salmon then this will be up your alley. If not then pass on this. Why this and the above appetizers took so long to come out I'll never know...

Cavatelli with Braised Rabbit - I ordered the half portion. For $13 it was the perfect small portion. The pasta and the rabbit were good

My fiance took me here for my birthday and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great- like a little house. The food was excellent as well. Loved the gnocchi and white fish. It is quite a trek out there and is expensive but I would like to return.

Tiny restaurant with delicous food and attentive waitstaff. Charming and off the beaten path. The gnocchi is amazing.

Perhaps we got a bad night, but our food was poorly executed. Cacio en pepe is pretty much the barometer by which to judge an Italian restaurant, and overcooked noodles arrived in a pool of broken butter. Other entrees showed a similar lack of care and attention to detail. Doesn't stack up to Riccardo Trattoria, or even Mia Francesca. Your dining dollars are best spent elsewhere.
