The house special chicken, deep fried to a light crisp and served with a delicious garlic sauce is one of my favorite meals. And reasonably priced too.

NOT a food snob, BUT. . .this place was, uh. . .lacking. The food was terrible (would be bland were it not for all the salt) & only 1/5 of the plate had "real" food (the rest was (again salty) rice.) The sweet & sour sauce was a dish of cold gel taken off of a neighboring table, and the tea was so diluted that it was nearly clear.

The service was largely unfriendly & there was a real cliquish feeling to the place, with the servers talking loudly to the "regulars", while overlooking the rest of us. It should be noted that I went for lunch, but that really does not excuse it.

Setting was decent, anyway.

I used to love this place, but now the quality has dropped so much that I started looking elsewhere

This place is awesome for lunch and extremely affordable. I think anyone who gives this place a bad review is just some Chinese food elitest. Compared to the local competition in the Phx area, it is a great value.

Let's be real here, Chinese-Chinese Food is hard to find but as far as American-Chines food this place is good.

Oh yeah... I've only been to the 48th St. and Elliot location.

I am a lover of Chinese food. From what actual chefs consider Chinese fast food to the real Chinese platters.

Abacus Inn is terrible. First there prices are out of line for the food they produce. I would be happy dropping 20 dollars for Orange chicken and a large Hot and Sour Soup is the meals were enjoyable. Instead the Hot and Sour soup played out like a can of Campbells chunky soup. The Orange chicken was sub par. Worst of all the chow mein noodles smelled like rancid dough and tasted like sugary dough.
There is a little hole in the wall Chinese diner next to a Bike Den on 43rd and Cactus. Youre better off there than at Abacus!
