An absolutely wonderful old school neighborhood bar that is a must visit for people who love divey bars and amazing history. Basically they had me at the English Mastiff door dog...so awesome

This place is the best. It's exactly what a neighborhood bar should be - been in the same family for over a hundred years, historic pictures on the wall, simple selection of bottled beers, plenty of seating to bring your friends, and best of all a big fluffy adorable dog who's super shy.

Be sure to try the Polish brandy!

The people here are the best part of this bar. One of Detroit's hidden gems that is off the beaten path. I love a fine dive and this place is one of them. If it were not for the dog I would give this place a 5 star rating. I am fearful of them and my comfort level is not at a 10 because of the animal. I know he is a big softy but a phobia is a phobia. Good pool table, History and Cigar room and the bar is a was manufactured by Stroh's which is super cool. I suggest making the trip and have an adventure to this bar.
