The food and service was great. We were told that the crab cake was the best in the city, and truth be told, I cannot argue that statement.

This is in no way, shape, or form Cajun or Creole cuisine. It's a shame it's named "Acadiana", this should be called " NOLA eats" or something more accurate. Take it from someone who lived in Lafayette for the last thirteen years, the food is priced insanely high for the way it tastes, and though it tastes good authentic is not a word that I'd use to describe it.

Food was good, but a little pricey. This qualifies as a New Orleans resturant and not Acadian or true cajun. Sophisticated and cajun arent compatible, unlike the description of the food states in the google description. As someone from Lafayette, La with cajun heritage, I think I am qualified to comment.

Otherwise, the atmosphere is good, bright, and comfortable. Service is good and there is plenty of seating.

Came for southern cuisine but was greeted by the literal "dirty south". My parents, husband, and I were greeted by carcasses of a handful of flies by the window seal upon seating. We had to specifically request to be moved to another table and was only done with hesitation by the hostess.

Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed from the start. Our water was not given until the end of our appetizer course. My husband's appetizer and entrees were both way over salted to a point he couldn't stomach more than two bites. Since we couldn't locate her for the most part, by the time she reappeared the rest of the table were already done with their food - there was just no point in sending the food back now.

Not everything was terrible - there were some hits!
Complimentary biscuits with pepper jelly and cream - sad but these ended up being my fav item of the day - buttery and fluffy - refill please!
Charbroiled oysters
Seafood crepe gratin
Blackened tilapia

Okay
Grillade and grits - cheesy grits can't go wrong
Beignet - stingy on the amount of powdered sugar
Pecan tart - the mint chocolate ice cream came straight from a box, the neon color - super artificial yum?
Bread pudding - more like a dense muffin

Avoid
Shrimp and grits - disappointing, my shrimp were not deveined properly - the back was cut but the poop was still left hanging on the shrimp swimming in my bowl. My entree was not only lukewarm by the time it was served but there was also a thin layer of solidified fat on top of my sauce. In addition, the sauce was very one dimensional in taste and had to be saved by half a bottle of Tabasco.
Étouffée - get it if you want hypertension, the amount of salt actually stings my tongue
Creme brûlée - way too eggy and dense, mass production fail

$29 three course brunch - if dishes selected correctly would be a decent deal. However in my husband's case, he had to depend on the complimentary biscuits for a half filled stomach. Acadiana def need some work on housekeeping (the restaurant and especially the bathroom were filthy), management of the service and cooking staffs (lack of consistency in service and food served). I can't imagine paying the full price for any of the dishes served. What a shame! With Southern, Creole cuisine as one of my top favs, I have no choice but to travel to satisfy my craving.

The shrimp and grits were delicious. My server was fantastic, and the biscuits and pepper jelly made my tummy happy. And don't forget their delicious iced tea! Loved my first meal in DC. Thanks for such a great experience!

This favorite Mount Vernon Square fish house satisfies hankerings for Southern comfort food with its upscale Cajun-Creole offerings served in a loud, quick-trip-to-New-Orleans setting; its excellent-value brunch with live jazz is a wonderful way to spend Sunday morning, though fans also recommend it for special occasions.
