I have been a regular customer at AJ's for years because it is literally around the corner from me. I go there for coffee, take out dinner, and odds and ends I need. A day or so ago, I bought a "Dragon Fruit" there to give to a friend… 12 + dollars. Now we all know we pay more for everything at AJ's, but it's often worth it for the service and the quality, especially when it comes to specialty items. Not anymore. I had to return the fruit because my friend was unexpectedly called out of the country. When I went to return it the clerk was unsure what to do (I had tossed the receipt,so didn't have it with me) He turned to a manger who asked if I had the receipt…when I said I didn't, she said (across 2 crowded lines) "Well you need to have a receipt… it says so at the bottom". Not only was it embarrassing, it was time wasting, and really..do that many people try to sneak in and return Dragon Fruit from somewhere else?
I did go home, combed through the trash, found the receipt, brought it back and returned it to the manager. I told her I had never had any issues at this store in the past, (I've always been dealt with courteously and professionally) Her response was "we have to follow the rules". Eddie is turning over in his grave.

We had Sherry help us with our sisters wedding and let me say she did a fantastic job. We had ordered the beef brisket and Chicken cordon blu. We also had the tomato with bacon soup along with a salad. Everything tasted amazing. Our guest kept asking who catered our food and who made the soup. I was of course too busy to taste the food, due to me being my sisters wedding coordinator but I was impressed how Sherry went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need. Even with the left overs I ate on Sunday afternoon, it tasted amazing. Sherry came out to our venue and helped delivered the food as well. I would highly recommend AJ's Fine Food to any Bride and Groom. I don't write many reviews but I cannot express my appreciation for Sherry and her team. I will definitely be coming back to AJ's for my catering needs. I feel I made a friend in the bistro department and I cannot wait to work with them again. Thank you so much.
