06/25/2015 8:37 pmOne of the hallmarks of authentic sushi is that rice is seasoned with fish-stock, sugar, and vinegar. Theirs was most definitely not seasoned at all, with just plain rice. Flavor was off by a mile. The rolls were a little loose and uneven, a sign of someone who is just learning how to make sushi. I should know- It looked like the first rolls I ever made. Rainbow roll was inexpensive. Now I know why, What they served would not be recognized as a rainbow roll anywhere else on the planet. It is normally a California roll with tuna, salmon, avocado, and shrimp wrapped most of the way around it. They re-wrap it with plastic wrap, and roll it again for a smooth solid appearance. This had some sort of tempura thing in it, not a California roll, and was rough-hewn with small thick chunks of fish on top. Not sure why they would have put eel on a rainbow roll. Appearance was awful. Thought they might have given me a dragon roll by accident, but others at our table who ordered rainbow roll got the same weird thing. |

09/29/2014 1:06 pmAmazing little place! :) My husband and I stopped in on a Thursday night for dinner around 6:30p. The food was delicious! The people who own the place are this sweet couple, the man is also the sushi chef and he does an incredible job! We ordered hibatchi plates and the portions were so big that both of us ate leftovers the next day for lunch. The food was SO affordable, and you get so much! Each plate comes with a side of Miso soup and a salad. The food was fresh, and the service was great. This is such a great find, we plan to go back frequently! |
