12/07/2015 7:36 pmMy husband and I love gyros. When we moved here everyone said we had to try Akropolis. I think we waited a solid year before we even walked through the doors. Everything in Midwest/Del City looks run down so we went in anyway. It's not much to look at inside but the people are always friendly and there's usually some form of sports on the tv. There's always more than enough food and it's delicious. We've gone to other Greek restaurants in town but this one by far is our favorite. It doesn't hurt that they are close to where we live and open on Sundays. |

07/29/2015 10:50 pmWorse Greek food I've ever tasted....pickle juice dressing??? Seasoned French fries??? That is not Greek food... Bakalava that tastes like a stick of butter for $1.69 that we took one bite of and spit it out. The solvaki chicken was as dry as the Sahara desert....to top it all off there was a piece of hair on the feta cheese in the salad...unacceptable food in my opinion....as a Greek woman I would know what greek food is and this is not it....after showing and complaining that there was hair in the food I was asked if I wanted anything else...ummm no thank you.... I would have liked my money back for the god awful food....I was famished when I went in there and hungry now I feel sick to my stomach....ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE |

10/31/2014 8:03 pmI dont know what "WallaceFamily" is talking about. He must have gone on a bad day. I go to this Akropolis almost every Saturday because it is the best Gyro's i have had. Period. Better than the Mall, and better than the one on Air Depot. The owner Mike is a family man, been doing business here for something like 15 or 20 years, and he is a very interesting character to chat with while you eat. Atmosphere is "smokey", dim, and inviting. I dont like over lighted, overly sterile places with rude teenager employees, and overpriced food. This place is very affordable, generous portions, and well cooked meat. Best part? He sells beer! Nothing like Beer and a Gyro while watching the football/soccer game on a Saturday. Try getting a beer with your Gyro at the Mall! Heh. Mike is a local celebrity with many current and retired military members who frequent his Akropolis every day for lunch. |
