12/11/2015 11:48 pmMixed review. Stayed here for two days. Day one, no room a/c and was offered a box fan. Said sold out and couldn't be moved. Day 2, incredible rude breakfast staff. Finally got moved to a room with working a/c! |

07/28/2015 8:51 pmThe Marriott on Louiana Blvd. in Alburquerque is the only place to consider when staying in ABQ. It is one of the very few high end 5 Star hotel accommodations in all of New Mexico. It is within walking distance of 3 upscale shopping malls, a Target, 2 multi-plex modern movie theaters and countless restaurant and bar choices from high end to fast food including Dave and Busters, The Macaroni Grill, Bravo's, Pei Wei, Ghenis Grill and many, many more but best of all it has a very fine restaurant of its own and it is one of only places in ABQ that offers room service. It is centeraly located, which makes getting anywhere you need to be in ABQ accessible within minutes, including the airport, concerts, casinos and sporting events. The Marriott on Louisana and staff, lead by The General Manager, Mr. Alwine, consistently goes way above and beyond that elusive extra mile, providing it's guest with the kind of service and hospitality that just no longer exists in this day and age. My teenage daughter has been diagnosed with a rare brain disease and we have to travel over 150 miles from home to the only hospital in the state capable of treating her illness. Somehow Mr. Alwine got word of my family's situation and although our stays had already been 5 star there for many years, the staff has since created these amazing miracles for our entire family during this very difficult time. We often have to be at the UNM Hospital for daily treatments at not so opportune times. Mr. Alpine and staff surprised us with a Christmas Tree and tasteful decorations, seasonal treats, fruit and snacks including an electric hot water pot, Christmas mugs and all the fixings (Mini marshmallows, crushed peppermint candy, chocolate spoons!) for hot coco, including the bottled water! There were chips and queso dip (including a microwave to heat everything), chocolates and seasonal cookies, all from a variety of speciality stores and famous local artisans, vendors and bakeries! They had wrapped presents! Wonderful, lovely things, out of the ordinary things and also lovely pajamas, slippers, a gift basket from The Body Shop with bubble bath, bath salts, lotions and more! Also an array of thoughtful things for us to eat from the Trader Joe's across the street! Obviously, a lot of thought and effort went into all the selections, not to mention the time and care that was taken to do all this when we had to be away from home at Christmas time. On a different visit, they decorated for my daughters birthday, sent her flowers and sent up treats! I could go on and on but the most important thing is how they have made us feel at a very difficult time for our entire family but especially for my daughter.... always welcome, always happy to see us, they made my daughter feel special and important and it was exactly what she needed at a curicial time! These touches go way beyond hospitality, they have been moments of grace in a dire situation. If you are thinking all of this must be priced out of reach, think again... You'll be surprised! It's actually very affordable, more so then places that don't offer half as much! All I can say about people that have submitted poor reviews, it had to be a bad personal situation taken out inappropriately on the hotel or something that was not brought to the hotels attention because I can't imagine any other place that is as professional, or that bends over backwards to provide their guests with a stellar stay and accommodations. |

07/01/2015 1:07 pmI was booked here for a work conference and was never told I would be staying with a room mate, which happened to be someone I hardly knew at all. When I was given this information upon arriving, I asked if I could be upgraded to my own room at my OWN COST. The guys behind the counter would not let me and cited the wishes of some man (probably the hotel manager) and said I'd have to pay the entire stay myself if that were the case, not just the difference in price. Call me crazy, but sleeping next to a random person I barely know is not on my list of things to do in Albuquerque. It amazes me that they'd put company "policy" (is it even?, I've seen people upgrade rooms before, doesn't sound impossible) before the comfort of a guest. I ended up staying somewhere else and just driving to my conference daily, to have privacy. |
