It took entirely too long to get that burned ass chicken and them super thick and dry ass waffles. Then they were too expensive, $3.10 for a can coke. I will never go back there again!!!

I have never eaten such delicious food in my life! Absolutely everything I've tasted far exceeds the competition! You can tell she puts her heart and soul into this amazing food! A very warm, welcoming environment....she makes you feel at home with her kindness and that good for the soul food! :)

Well I've never experienced this before...writing a bad review after traveling hours to get to a place. I don't think Alcenia's is what it used to be. Went for Saturday brunch - I hate they call it that. ILOVEBRUNCH! Chicken had no flavor, breast burnt and sliced open (I guess to see if it was done.). They called the potatoes hashbrowns but they were grey and mushy. Biscuit was microwaved and hard around the edge. Tomato gravy was offered but we had to ask for it. After it was microwaved, we got it but couldn't eat it. My friend ordered salmon croquettes, fried egg and fried green tomatoes. She tried to eat hers because eyes were on her. I just couldn't do it. I didn't say anything about my meal not being good but I guess they knew since it was still on my plate. They didn't make me pay for it. That's the only good thing about the visit...my friend would say the best thing was the Kool-Aid.

The lady serving us was very kind, gave us a kiss on the forehead. The staff were nice. But it was expensive, slow to be served, didn't have many things in the menu, dishes were dirty and not as tasty as some of the other soul food I've had. So many staff, but the tables were full of uncleared dishes and very little was coming out of the kitchen. I hope we went there on a bad day.
