05/20/2015 3:19 amI proposed to my wife in the corner booth at Aldo's sixteen years ago. Tonight we went there to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. So glad we did. Aldo's never fails us. Excellent service, incredible food. Not pretentious at all. We always enjoy looking at the wonderful photos hanging on the walls of Aldo's family trips to Italy. Thanks for always exceeding our expectations. In our opinion, no other Italian restaurant in the Cleveland-area can compare to Aldo's. |

02/18/2014 7:09 amI never write reviews. If your a good restaurant, you dont need reviews to prove it. But when I disagree with how a business is ran, I speak my mind. ALDOS IS RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. For that type of money I expect great environment, service, and food. You cant expect much at all as far as environment given their building size and location. Service was great, but an excess of staff working. Food was great, but ridiculously overpriced. Im sorry but I am just telling you how I see it. They had WAY too much staff working for only a few people and small environment. It made no sense. If prices were better, we would go back. But due to prices, never going back. |

06/05/2012 12:00 am"first time there was about 15+ years ago. i was surprised by the atmosphere and food quality...the they took cash, only. truly a family owned and operated italian restaurant, when you are there you are with friends. they say, whom ever ""they"" are, some things never change. i would have to say that about aldo's quality...the flavors are always there." |

05/15/2012 7:50 pmAldo's is Cleveland's answer to Rao's, the legendary Italian hole-in-the-wall in Manhattan's Spanish Harlem - only the lasagna is better and it's not impossible to get into. The place is out of the way, tiny, unpretentious and seriously good when it comes to old-fashioned, hearty Italian food. Everything's very nicely done, but the standouts are the seafood dishes - particularly Aldo's special pasta with all kinds of very fresh shellfish (scallops, shrimp, mussels) in a spicy tomato sauce. Excellent wine list and grappa (home-made). Everyone from Aldo to his son Matteo is warm and welcoming. My favorite Cleveland "hidden" treasure. |
