Alexander's On The Bay, Virginia Beach, Virginia Restaurant Details

Our waitress was spectacular, the food was very good but a little pricey. Great view of the bay/ocean. Would recommend.

Awful experience; took my mom out and I had purchased a coupon from Living Socials. The food was served cold and our waiter service/attitude was rude. I always leave tips but not this time which means I cannot recommend this restaurant. It needs Restaurant Impossible.

Last Sunday, my boyfriend and I had dinner at Alexander's on the Bay. It was our first time eating at this restaurant and we will NOT return. We ordered an appetizer (Barbeque Shrimp), soup (Crab Soup), two entrees (Cashew Chicken and Seafood Madagascar Pasta), and dessert (Bread Pudding) plus wine and spirits. Unfortunately the best part of the experience was the wine and spirits. Their food is very bland, so if you aren’t big on seasoning this may be right up your alley; we were not fans, and even generous pepper did not help the taste. In addition, the Barbecue Shrimp seemed terribly undercooked; again this might be by design, but my boyfriend did not enjoy the thick, white undercooked bacon and the chewy, tasteless shrimp. Our server was nice and informative, but seemed to lack personality and experience with a lot of the restaurant’s own cuisine. The desert was okay. The atmosphere, layout, décor, and music of the dining area are top-notch, and the views of the beach and beachgoers while you dine is definitely a perk. But the lifeblood (or “focal point” if you don’t want to use “lifeblood) of any restaurant has to be its food, and we were sorely disappointed. It was not worth the time or money, and like us you may want to consider dining elsewhere!!!

The best thing about this restaurant is the view and the music! Friends of mine and I went there one Saturday evening and there was this fantastic guitarist, Dimitar Zarev, who lightened up the place with his music. Beautiful music! Unforgettable! We'll go there again just for the music!

So so wonderful couldn't ask for any better! The food was just awesome. So sweet treated us like family! This was a great experience and done so well. Looked so caring and thoughtful. My daughters wedding went so well I can't thank Alexanders and staff enough.
