Portions were slightly smaller than I expected, but overall the food was good and the service was great!

I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 20 years. It's consistently excellent food, the atmosphere feels like old country in the best of ways, the staff is welcoming, professional and upbeat, the owner- Jerry, recognizes us warmly every visit, and we walk out feeling as though are stomachs and hearts are satiated. The kalamarkia is absolutely outstanding and unlike 'fried calamari' anywhere else in the city. The flaming cheese is fun, too, and delicious bread is served with high quality olive oil and balsamic. The greek salad and lamb skewers, along with a nice Retsina, make for a lovely, inexpensive dinner. I love this place!

There are many simple charms at the Alexis. The food is authentic and DELICIOUS. Allow me to share a something special about the Calamari.....it is the BEST in the City! ALWAYS consistently thick juicy hot with a secret breading that I have Never found elsewhere. Seriously, anywhere else calamari is poured out of a frozen box with caked breading. Not Alexis. Truly. This included trips out to greek spots Seattle, San Fran, San Diego. NO ONE beats Alexis Calamari on the west coast!

The hospitality is overflowing here. We always feel like family. Geriasimos (Gerry) the owner usually meets us at the door when we arrive with a big smile and makes sure we are happy on the way out the door. The service is fast, the Retsina wine is the tasty, and the Flaming cheese dish is always fun! The Weekend Belly Dancer is adorable too. : )
The atmosphere has been left in a time-warp. By that i mean the place has not changed in 30 years. The upbeat greek music plays lightly in the background, and authentic old school greek decorations abound. In other words no latest greatest corporate hype or distracting Big screen TV's hanging everywhere. The perfect date night, family gathering, place with a Sizable Banquet room .
