Good food, but really, it's past 2000, why are they still cash only? Shady.

Food:

Delicious food without perhaps as diverse of a selection as its other locations, but there's still plenty to choose from and I dare you to leave unsatisfied. You'll never go hungry at Uncle Sam's, as they pile on the meat and toppings to your sub and are very generous with the side of killer fries. Service is usually friendly, unless you try to pay with anything other than cash. You'll get looks from the staff like you're trying to start a race war. However, that is the lone gripe with this Oakland classic. Earns all five stars.

Usually I have pretty good experiences here. However, today was truly awful. The fact that they only accept cash is fine, but they need to make it clear when you call on the phone and post it clearly on their website that this is the policy. Went to pay with a card and the girl working was not helpful at all, made me go through the whole process before telling me they don't accept credit cards. So we went back to get cash, then came back again and paid. They forgot to give us our fries. So we go back again to get the fries. Then we get home and realize they gave us the wrong sub for one of the orders. I'm extremely upset at the experience we had, and the customer service displayed today was absolutely terrible.

Food:

Jimmy Johns at 3444 Forbes is better. And their Management staff is amazing. I would go there instead. Plus they deliver really quick.

I decided to give this place a try after reading all the great reviews, and I WAS NOT disappointed. The cheese steak was excellent in every way. I also got a truck load of (delicious) french fries with my meal. This is definitely a belly buster, and not something you would want to eat every day; however, these guys are legit.
