Food:

Things that I liked very much: the crab cakes, the trout, the service and the music in the background.

Things I didn't care for: the chicken pot pie, the way the green beans were done.

Advertised to be a southern food restaurant, we were looking for some good southern fried chicken close to home- just didn't want the mess at home:) The meal started out with thse wonderful yeast rolls with melted garlic butter and cheese sprinkled on top, they were yummy! We ordered the fried chicken and were very disappointed. In the south fired chicken means on the bone, skin on chicken! This meal came out as bonless, skinless,chicken breasts battered in something that resembled Shake and Bake! We also ordered the veggie of day, collard greens...bad idea. They were chopped, large veins and all and cooked with an enormous amount of chopped bacon; not southern style:( It seemed that the owner was really trying to please her customers, but she needs a better chef that understands what "southern cooking" means and she needs to be able to provide the coreect ingrediants to make it happen. The price points of the meal certainly indicated a better meal than what we got! Wish we had stopped with the yummy rolls:)

This is one of my favorite places in all of Atlanta. The owner, Alison, is there every day, and she and her staff go out of their way to make people comfortable and well fed. They have 2 flat screens at the bar, and lots of seating area. The meals are outstanding...seriously. It's not expensive for what you get, and I make it a point to stop by at least twice a month or so for a great meal. Highly recommended. It's sooooo much better than some chain restaurant. Even their filet mignon is really, really delicious, and their wine selection has been put together with care. Alison will even provide a tasting of a particular wine or beer if you are not sure.

Good service. Food was good but not great. But I wont be going back. Not worth the price.
