09/15/2015 9:16 amBeware of the billing practices of Allegro Romano. I took a party of 10 for dinner. The waiter pushed for what he wanted us to have, characterizing dishes that turned out to be billed at $20 a plate as a little taste of this and that. Wine was being poured with abandon even after we told them to ask before pouring. Another bottle appeared open without us ordering it. The waiter then presented a bill for $901! When I questioned what the scribbled entries were and how the bill became so high. They apologized that they had given another table our bill. This was completely false as the largest other table in the restaurant was 6 people and by the time our bill arrived we were the only party left in the restaurant. They then quickly produced a bill they said was correct for $630. Dishonest and intentional practices to bilk their customers. I gave them two stars because the food was good. They should be in jail instead of the restaurant business. |

10/31/2014 1:01 pmThis was my 2nd time at Allegro Romano (went on October 23rd, 2014) and I have to say, the service quality and the food quality have both decreased. |

10/03/2014 12:22 pmTHIS is the place for authentic italian pasta in nob hill. it's an establishment. you will get first class treatment from the chef who lives in the apartment above his restaurant and truly puts heart & soul into this place. many famous people have dined here, but it still feels local and authentic. get reservations if you go! |

09/20/2015 6:45 pmRegulars recommend you let Lorenzo, the "fun" chef-owner, "be your guide to an authentic meal from Roma" at this "romantic" trattoria "hidden away" in Russian Hill; it's so "teeny-tiny" that it's "hard to get in", but the tenacious are rewarded with "amazing" Italian fare and perhaps some "little extras" like "a glass of port on the house." |
