01/09/2015 5:37 pmI can't afford how good Alon's is. Excellent pastries. Good coffee. Awesome selection of other foods if you want to pay for top-notch stuff. |

12/04/2014 9:08 pmWhy would you pay $12 for a sandwich? Because it's the best d%#& chicken salad, or tuna salad or Italian meats and cheeses you can get for an upscale European deli in Atlanta. Check out Perimeter's location for an even better grocery selection. |

11/05/2014 6:20 pmAlon's... How do I love thee. There are two places to get great bread in Atlanta - Alon's and H&F Bakery. I love Alon's ciabatta rolls and loaves and the brioche - it's buttery and slightly sweet. I can't be trusted with it. Seriously. |

08/29/2014 5:47 pmBefore I get too far into this review, I just want everyone to know that this has been my favorite discovery during my coffee scene exploration. When Jaclyn first mentioned this place, I was excited because I hadn't been to a proper neighborhood bakery in Atlanta. And I've lived here for more than 20 years. And then I found out they brewed Batdorf & Bronson coffee, which made the anticipation that much greater. |

08/10/2014 8:27 pmThe N. Highlands Alon's has neither the great seating of Dunwoody location nor the lunch and deli options. The cheese selection and service far surpasses the Dunwoody restaurant. I similarly enjoy the coffee and baked goods, while leisurely walking through the Highlands. |

08/16/2015 8:18 pmThis amazing quick stop in Virginia-Highland is a universally loved constant for fantastic breads, pastries, cakes and gourmet takeout; though it can get jam-packed in the tight space and few find it pricey, most agree the consistent quality is well worth it.|One part patisserie, one part sandwich shop extraordinaire, this gourmet-to-go bakery duo offers quality provisions (think cheeses, salads, meats and desserts) along with some of the best bread in Atlanta; the original Virginia-Highland outlet has limited seating and nightmare parking, while its beautiful Morningside-Lenox Park sibling features a pleasant patio, but both supply a touch of Europe via wonderful variety, along with brusque service, lunchtime rushes and crazy prices. |
