Al's Beef, Chicago, Illinois Restaurant Details

It's all about the "legendary" "drip-down-your-hand" Italian beef sandwiches "smothered" with hot and sweet peppers and dipped in "meat juices" ("for god's sake have them dunk it") at this homegrown fast food chain where the fries are pretty "great too"; yes, the "no-frills" surrounds are a bit "lackluster" (many "prefer" the Taylor St. original), but when you want to "indulge", it's a "Chicago classic."

There is no wrong order because all of the food is very good , but I would choose the Al's Beef in little Italy over this one.

Good but not as good as the one on Taylor St. Great location for the sake of work accessibility

I am very disappointed in this establishment. My partner and I visited the Wabash location and were yelled at by a homeless lady inside the restaurant. Sitting at the counter eating lunch this sick woman saw us, came inside, stood in the door and proceeded to yell hurtful profanities and make obscene jesters. The staff just stared. No one came out from behind the counter to force her out, no one said leave, no one even apologozed!

Beware you travelers, this establishment does not care about your safety or experience!

Good... Lord. This was the food highlight of my trip to Chicago. Got the hot beef sandwich with provolone, sweet peppers and dipped (if it's not dipped, you messed up). It was under $25 for 2 sandwiches and a large fry (buffalo, blue cheese). A+!

Food:

Get the original Italian beef dipped and you will not be disappointed! This location had excellent service and a good atmosphere to enjoy a Chicago fav!
