01/24/2016 8:42 pmIt's all about the "legendary" "drip-down-your-hand" Italian beef sandwiches "smothered" with hot and sweet peppers and dipped in "meat juices" ("for god's sake have them dunk it") at this homegrown fast food chain where the fries are pretty "great too"; yes, the "no-frills" surrounds are a bit "lackluster" (many "prefer" the Taylor St. original), but when you want to "indulge", it's a "Chicago classic." |

11/22/2015 5:56 pmStopped here after getting off of the bus and wandering around the city. I had never been to Chicago before and this was my inaugural Chicago meal. I had a classic Italian beef sandwich and a soda. The proportion was good as was the flavor. It seemed like one of those classic local eateries people talk about (i.e. Pats, Genos, etc.). |

08/16/2015 6:07 pmOrdered an Italian beef... After getting it delivered it was dry... I ordered it wet and yet the bread and meat were dry... I called and they offered no help ... I WILL NOT ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN |

07/14/2015 2:45 amAl's Beef is a little eatery with a quaint, old-school Chicago look. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went in. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich, and quite enjoyed it. The beef was moist and well-seasoned without being overly greasy, and dripping so much that if you dally over eating your sandwich the bread will turn into gravy. Make sure you have napkins handy, because it will be a bit on the messy side. While good, it wasn't amazing. The prices were decent, the staff was polite, the place was clean. I wish Google allowed half stars because I'd give this a solid 3.5. A it is, I can only do full stars, so I am pushing tis up to a 4, even though in reality I feel it is slightly below this. |
