I heard so much about American Flatbread from friends from Vermont and was thrilled to hear they made their way down to the DC area. Loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. Great beer selection and pizza was also wonderful. Favorite pizza place by far is still Pizza Paradiso, although American Flatbread now comes in a close second.

Great flatbread pizza. Their salad is quite good too. Definitely worth a visit.

For some reason, they keep calling them flat bread and cut them differently, but it's a thin crust pizza. They have a great wood burning oven, but I don't think they've figured out what they can do with it. They sometimes tear the pizza and it usually comes out dry. The service is OK. They are very nice, but courtesy is not a substitute for competence. I wrote them a feedback email, the manager didn't even bother to respond.
