We arrived early for our reservation, and they worked to seat us early. The food was amazing, and service was prompt without being overbearing.

I went to Amis on Friday and had the best Brussels sprout dish ever!! I turned a friend who doesn't like brussels sprout into liking them! They were cooked so well, crispy with so much flavor!
Ok got that out of my system. The drinks are phenomenal - very well made and tasty.
There were four of us so we liked to get a few of everything to share. We got traditional meatballs, brussels sprouts (LOVE), and mixed salumi plate to share. The meatballs were tender and it a great sauce that I cleaned with my bread. I was ok with the meat plate - I don't think I'll ever like bologna no matter how fancy it is.
For our entrees, we got the scallops, bucatini with jalapeno and almond pesto, monk fish spaghetti special, and rigatoni with beef bolognese and spinach. Each dish was phenomenal, except the scallops. Such a disappointment for me because I love scallops! They did not have a nice sear that you usually expect and it was so overly salted. I put salt on my apples and I thought it was salty. When our waiter came by to check on us, I mentioned that and it was so nice about it, he gave me a complimentary glass of wine. I thought that was just superb customer care. I still don't think I would order the scallops again but I would totally go again just to eat those brussel sprouts.
I didn't think I had room for dessert but we they brought out the belgian style waffle and the “tartufo al bacio” - I just couldn't help myself. Very delicious ending to a fantastic meal!

Another one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. Fantastic Italian dishes focused on Roman cuisine. The cacio y pepe and the steak are two of the many highlights for me. Excellent beer and wine list as well. This place can be busy so plan ahead and make a reservation. Excellent service as well. Valet parking right in front if you happen to be driving in.
