At this relaxed Uptown gem, you'll find a straightforward Italian menu highlighted by homemade pastas and other rich, traditional entrees, all relatively reasonably priced; a knowledgeable crew tends the cozy, romantic setting, and the enjoyable rooftop patio is a real plus in summer.

Daily happy hour is wonderfully priced with great food and wine selections. Try the mushroom passion for a rich pasta dinner. The bread and Parmesan is served warm with oil to start your meal off on a great note. Summer rooftop drinks are great after a walk around Lake Calhoun.

Nice atmosphere, good food. REALLY bad service. Or should I say server? We waited till after we were brought appetizers, server never even asked if we wanted drinks! He never stopped to ask if we needed anything! Our table of six was disgusted with him, we didn't leave a tip (& we love to leave fat tips! so that should tell you something).
We left our tip with a nice server who we found near the bar, who was willing to bring our table drinks & hunt down our lost server to tell him to bring our table our food, who wandered past our table dozens of times without a wink or even a nudge!! We had to get up & ask someone else for our drinks, water, & food...just stupid. I used to be a server & I am embarrassed for this guy's lack of customer service skills. I MIGHT eat there again, but request a female server who is capable of multitasking.

Worst restaurant I have EVER been! All was terrible, the food, the service, all! We complaint with the manager and he was very rude also, didn't even apologize! We ordered a risotto and that was only regular rice, tried to fool us! I will never go back!

My friend and i absolutely love amore victoria. we found this place one day wondering around uptown. the food is wonderful, the atmosphere is relaxed and natural which is hard to find in uptown nowadays with all the big chain restraunts.

The little things is what makes this a negative review. I chose this establishment as a valentine's day dinner date with my wife. I had never been there before but was aware of it. Initially I was excited as we were ushered downstairs to their "wine cellar" to our table. That excitement dwindled quickly as I sat down to the sound of the couple, sitting awkwardly close to us, complaining how their vegetarian request arrived with meat in it. Whatever, mistakes happen.

It took approximately 5 minutes for the waiter to make it to our table and just came across as disjointed in the process. Then an employee decided to hook up their phone to the sound system, and shuffled through some hip hop, jazz and pop music until some awkward rock music came on. Odd choice for a romantic setting but again, whatever.

Then a handful of bussers/waiters seemed to be attempting to make as much noise as possible clomping up and down the wooden staircase, so much so that almost every patron would turn and look at the staircase to make sure someone wasn't stumbling down the stairs.

I ordered a $50 veal picatta. It arrived in a timely manner however I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the meal for the price. The veal was tough, and the picatta sauce tasted like it was Kraft Italian Dressing with capers mixed in. For $50.

Overall it has potential but it just seems to be poorly managed. The wait staff was not uniform, there were two 14ish year old boys wandering around attempting to clear tables, the bussers were also seating people from time to time etc etc etc.

I will not cross this place off my list as a never to visit again, but I would not recommend it for a "special" menu type of night as they seem to overinflate their prices without inflating the experience.

Note to the owners: get a manager who knows what they are doing because it is clear that your current manager is either over their head or in the wrong field.
