I've been going to Amy's for a long time, ever since I had it in Austin back in college. I always like their daily new flavors, especially the really unique ones, like the Black Sesame ice cream that I sampled. The ice cream is rich and creamy, and their homemade whipped cream is delicious on shakes. Give Amy's a try, you won't be disappointed.

P.S. - Sometimes there are also some alcohol infused ice cream selections ;)

The Mexican vanilla ice cream alone is worth the trip here. The toppings only make it even better.. However, the service has really declined in recent years and the line gets absurdly long!

They also used to list their special flavors on Twitter or their website but as far as I can tell they have stopped doing that... :-(

I found Amy's a few months ago and frequent the location at least once a month for their Coffee milkshake, which is to die for. However, I visited recently and the service was TERRIBLE! There was a line wrapped around the counter and the wait was unbelievable. I do not mind to wait, but the workers were moving slower than mu grandmother. Instead of teaming up and knocking out the line they would switch on and off making things while the other "stocked" items that didn't even need to be stocked. When they were making something for a customer they moved at a glacial pace. I would fire these two in a heartbeat. It is good to have a long line but when you have more people walking out than you do ordering due to the employees it is time for a change. Also, one of the employees handled someone's banana without gloves.

Okay so I go to UT so I know Amy's and love it there. However my experience in Houston this winter was something to remember but not in a positive way. Horrible phone correspondence, but I needed a birthday cake, and I am a loyal customer in Austin. When I got there, not very good customer service, need to speak up and be more personable!! Dirty bathrooms too, said my friend. Can't wait to go back to Austin. So much different there

My favorite ice cream place in town, especially when you find that unique combination that hits your taste buds just right! Mine was their sweet cream ice cream with Reese's and cookie dough mixed in with butterscotch on top. so delicious!
