05/16/2016 5:36 amBooking and paying for our 2 night stay via Expedia in February we arrived to the Mayflower on our first booked night in mid/early-May at around 7pm. The reception desk could not find our name in the system and after presenting our paid receipt and about 15-20mins waiting they had found their system had not processed the booking from Expedia at all. We were informed that due to this we would be placed on a lower level (level 4) which did not offer a pleasant view due to "being booked out 100%" that night but could possibly change rooms the following night if we wished; we were ok with this and proceeded to the room. Arriving to the room we discovered along with the brick wall view, a large fan system creating a noisy industrial feel which would definitely hamper our sleeping efforts. I called the front desk noting them of this noise and requested another room if possible at all despite the 100% booking claim, to be given the option of the disabled room one floor lower which was closer to the fan system and thus would have been - mutually-acknowledged - louder. I declined this option for obvious reasons and made aware of our disappointment of the room selection after having booked and fully paid 4 months prior. He then claimed to check the system again and found another free room one floor higher on the same side (the claim of being 100% fully booked didn't seem to honest at this stage) which should theoretically should be quieter, after which explaining to me that their room selections are chosen in order of check-in times (i.e., the later you check-in, the worse room you get despite having booked and paid long before; this doesn’t seem viable protocol to me). After getting the new level 5 room key we entered the room to have the same fan noise but slightly louder (could have been on the fan’s motor side this time) and the room smelled like a deep fryer which perhaps indicated we were near the restaurant kitchen?? |

04/25/2016 6:18 amThe lobby of the hotel is elegant but inviting. We were greeted warmly by the front desk personnel and they made us feel very welcome. The view out of our window was of the city which was nice. The room was beautifully decorated and cozy. The only couple of things I would say were less than perfect were that the bedding was not warm enough even with the blanket in the closet. I like to sleep with a cold room and under warm cozy blankets. The other thing was that the sign for the hotel is snail and we actually missed it the first time and had to drive around the block. But overall we had a very lovely romantic stay! We would stay there again. |

04/23/2016 9:28 amBeautiful hotel. I loved the lobby, very inviting. The entire staff was wonderful and attentive. Extremely clean, great location! Beautifully decorated. The little extra's and offerings were appreciated. Will definitely stay here again. Great value. My only bugaboo is that Parking is $50. |

04/13/2016 4:26 amThe hotel is great, but I had issues getting my room initially when they were unable to charge the company card that guaranteed my room. I was forced to use my own card, but aside from that, employees were kind and generous. Room was clean, comfortable and fancier than I expected. |
