It's a wonderful "old skool" hotel. It's a historical building, so some modern convenience items are lacking. You can't always control the room temperature directly, and there aren't many electrical outlets.

However, the staff is amazing, and walking into the interior courtyard to have morning breakfast with croissants by the fountain makes you feel like you been transported back 100 years. Annie is wonderful and will get you more juice, coffee and historical facts than you can ever want.

As long as you can deal with the older infrastructure, it's highly recommended.

The two positives of this hotel were the location to all of the activities and the great staff. Everyone was polite and accommodating. Monique in the am was excellent and the gentlemen at night that checked us in was pleasant as well. Security was nice and so was the rest of the hotel staff. Definitely made us feel welcomed and safe. The Hotel is on Royal and Bourbon St is the next street over but outside of the parade on Royal during Fat Tuesday it was peaceful. In all it was a great stay at a great location for a very nice price. Would definitely stay there again if we come back for another Mardi Gras.

The only couple downsides to the hotel were that the carpet was kinda dirty could use a good deep shampooing, the shower head could be replaced and the water pressure and hot water need to be fixed. Also, even though croissants and juice were provided as the breakfast, you had to request it each morning which wasn't always convenient.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Andrew Jackson hotel in November 2013. This place reminds me of an older cozy bed & breakfast. It was amazing. This place is beautiful and the garden (court yard) was quiet and serene. The staff were amazing people.

The only issue we had was the valet parking. The person who parked our car left it on the road and our vehicle was issued a ticket. This has still has not been resolved by management. I do hope this is resolved soon as where we would love to able to spend our honeymoon there.
