04/02/2016 1:30 amFrom supremely authentic regional specialties like albondigas plus excellent margaritas and micheladas, they're keepin' it real with the Puebla-style Mexican fare at this pair of affordable gems in Eastie; cozy and staffed by a great crew, including the family owners, it's like eating in someone's home. |

11/22/2015 2:59 amExquisite, authentic, original Mexican cuisine in a warm romantic environment. This is not Chili's or Taco Bell. No gobs of cheese bespoil the dishes. Sauces are complex, nuanced, interesting. The mole sauce tastes different which each bite. Do yourself a favor, even if you are just a couple, order the appetizer platter for four. A small portion of nearly everything on the menu. |

08/21/2015 5:46 pmThe food was good and I really liked the steak tacos. Had a good flavor. But we waited WAY too long for a simple order. I think they need to work on their kitchen speed. |

04/14/2015 8:17 pmSo many people recommended Angela's Cafe for Mexican food in Boston, so while the LA-girl in me was skeptical, I made it out to East Boston. It's hard to get to this small cafe without a car, but I easily found street parking. They're open all day and there's no wait in the middle of the afternoon. The prices aren't too expensive. I tried the al pastor taco, which was generously filled with meat, and the chicken mole gordita, which was filling. The salsa and sauces were good, spicy, although the meat tended to be a bit dry. The 2 things filled me up and cost $6 total. It's definitely a good spot for authentic Mexican food, even if it's not as good as LA's vast offerings of Mexican taquerias. |
