06/07/2015 1:22 amAnna Maria is a relatively small restaurant that serves Italian classics. Upon entering you see a small bar and the seating area. This could be a cool little place, but some of the decorations are dated (fake grapes, wine barrels, weathered frescos). The menu is a who's who of classic Italian dishes with nothing that really stood out. When your menu has classics on them it forces you to do them exceptionally well using the best ingredients. Unfortunately this is where they fall short. Everything just tasted average, from the bread, to the salad, to our main dishes. We probably wont be back unfortunately as we wanted it to be that quaint neighborhood Italian place you go to all the time. |

06/04/2015 2:09 pmNice laid back Italian place. Tough to find parking on a busy night in the neighborhood, especially when the Cubs are in town and playing at night. Excellent Staff and great food. |

12/03/2013 11:57 pmA great neighborhood restaurant and the best Italian food in Chicago. Try the tiramisu! I might be a little biased, though, since my mom is Anna and my aunt is Maria. :) |

08/26/2013 9:20 pmI ordered the linguine positano-thin flat noodles with choice of shrimp or sea scallops in a garlic white wine sauce - It was awful - Just plain spaghetti noodles - 3 pieces of shrimp and 2 pieces of scallops! Wonder where the white wine sauce was! I kept putting olive oil and cheese on it to give it some kind of flavor! For $19 - I could of had a box of Pasta Roni that would of tasted better than this! My husband had the pollo parmigiana ` lightly breaded chicken breasts baked with fresh mozzarella in marinara or aurora tomato cream sauce - it was a dry small piece of chicken for $17! Maybe the rest of the food on the menu is good, but we would never go back! |
