Anthony's Italian Deli, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Delicatessen Restaurant Details

I ate here for lunch, it took over 40 minutes for our food to be prepared. I placed an order to go, and after waiting about 25 minutes, I went to check to see how much longer it would be. Customers dining in the restaurant who had ordered after me were already eating, and I did not place a large order. I was rudely informed next time I should call in my order if I cannot wait for it. He was unsure how long my food would be and did not care I was in a rush. I asked to speak to the manager, and he informed me he was the business owner, and there was no one else I could speak to! He refused to refund my food, so I was forced to wait! I will never visit this deli again, the food was good, when I FINALLY got it. But I cannot shake the rude owner who refused to even give me his name!

Do NOT eat at Anthony's Italian deli. I just had an unimaginable experience. I was part of a large group order. The owner's son screwed up and gave me part of someone's order in addition to ours. He then left the restaurant and came to the funeral home where we are morning the passing of my best friends grandfather's and informed me I owe him $15 dollars.
Who the hell interrupts a funeral for a $15 dollar mistake? You screwed up deal with, don't track me down at a funeral and demand money.

Got some spaghetti & meatballs a couple days ago, it was delicious! They definitely have a new customer!

When I visit my dad in Baton Rouge I have to stop for a muffoletta at Anthony's! It is perfect every time. This last visit, I returned to the northeast with a container of their olive mix.. That delicious stuff is almost gone now but I will be visiting again soon! I'll miss the old place, so close to my dads house, but looking forward to seeing their new home! Thanks for such an great place, great service and the best muffoletta anywhere!

You know it's good when the mom and son go after each other in Italian. I love hitting them up for the Italian lover sandwich or the Friday spaghetti lunch special. Good place in a very hidden and not so obvious part of Florida.
