Good pasta and reasonable but not amazing.

For my wife and myself, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences of our lives. The one star above is actually one star too many. The service was non-existent to the point where we wondered at times if we we had passed into some parellel universe where we were invisible. The glass of Orvieto my wife oredered was undrinkable. The Twice Cooked Tuscan Bean Soup I started with was tasteless and could more aptly be called 'the Twice Watered-down Tuscan Bean Soup. The equally tasteless linguini with lobster sauce had a strange watery yellow liquid at the bottom of the bowl that, in spite of all my efforts, just rested there and declined to coat the linquini. When I finally caught one of the staff, as she rushed by, and requested pepper (an attempt to give the dish some flavor), she quickly returned and left a white crockery mustard jar which contained chili pepper flakes. When our waiter made a long overdue appearance bearing grated cheese for our, by now, half-eaten, pasta, I once again asked, more specifically, for 'ground black' pepper, he disappeared and did not return until our plates had been cleared away, at which point he brought our bill. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was far from crowded which we were there although it had started to fill up as we left...leaving us to ponder as to what could have caused this apparent melt down...or maybe it was 'business as usual' at that establishment. In any event, we won't go back to find out.
