"No New Orleans trip is complete" without a "sumptuous" French-Creole meal at this "classic of all classics" (established 1840) "in the heart of the French Quarter", where "oysters Rockefeller was invented"; the "elegant" setting is "composed of many rooms" that boast "museum-quality artifacts" ("ask for a guided tour"), so even if prices are thoroughly modern, everything else is a "throwback to a more gracious time"; P.S. Sunday is brunch only.

Honestly, although it was somewhat cool to eat at the second oldest restaurant in the United States, I thought it was incredibly overrated. First of all, the service was atrocious. Our server couldn't be bothered, so it was up to the bus - person to save the day. My dining companions had decent fare, but the gulf fish with crab I ordered was very bland. For $40 I expected to be blown away, but I had far better seafood at the farmer's market pavilion during our stay, and with friendlier service and a third of the cost. In short, there are much better ways to spend $150 in the French Quarter.

The worst food I have ever been served. Expected a great experience, was terrible food, served cold and over cooked in a very ugly dining room, and very expensive.

Honestly I think this place is a tourist trap. I ate there while on vacation and compared to the other restaurants I had eaten at this one was just "okay". I never mind paying for food if the quality lives up to the price and in this case it just wasn't. Also, the service here was terrible. The waitress didn't even make eye contact.

Sadly, Antoine's is a place that does not live up to its reputation. Overhyped and overpriced, that's all you really need to know. They are banking on their name and history, not their food. Know that they are able to seat 1300 people at once and you should be able to imagine the problems you will encounter.
Too many great restaurants with outstanding food to waste your time and money here. Timing issues, massive wait time for entrées, and a wait staff that is stretched too thin combined with the prices being asked for the quality of food you get are a shame.

Pretty weird experience here. Host wouldn't let us in the door although he was staring at our reservation. Another host had to lead us through the door. We were taken through 3 separate rooms and seated a back separate part of the restaurant. Oysters Rockefeller do not have spinach, so if that's what you're expecting I wouldn't get them. Service was spotty. Chateaubriand for two was lovely. Puffed potatoes were good. Overall not worth the money and no dress code is enforced.
