Great food. Excellent Margaritas. We stopped in for a late lunch and got a quick seating outside. The service was fast, the margaritas were strong and sweet. We ordered the guacamole nachos and carnitas verdes and loved both. Definitly our new mexican spot.

I've been eating at Antonios since the mid-70s and it remains my favorite Mexican restaurant to this day, 30+ years later. Before Baja Fresh, there was Antonios. Antonions has absolutely the best 'home made' chili rellenos; the house salsa for dipping with chips is great even tho everyone has copied it now; Yolanda's Special is fantastic; or try the daily specials from Antonio's native Monterrey Mexico. I feel at home there, especially when Antonio comes around to my table to say hello. I have seen celebrities dine there quietly over the years, out of the way, wanting to be left alone to eat in peace. So if you see anyone famous, leave them alone, please! Just enjoy it all.

While not "discovered by the hipsters yet", this '50s-vintage Melrose "institution" steadily caters to "loyal and happy patrons" with "old-style Mexican" classics in dimly lit digs lined with celeb photos; regulars report "the food is only bested by [owner] Antonio's smile" – and perhaps the 300 tequilas that stock the bar.
