The oldest continually operating Japanese market in Portland, Anzen has a selection of everything you need for basic Japanese cooking in the American home. I love that it's been here since 1905, still in the same family. It's an important cultural resource for Portland!

Food:

I love going to Anzen and getting the salmon sashimi. Also a good spot for other supplies. The service is always great. This is a smaller shop than some of the other Asian stores around, but still a fairly good selection.

Extremely overpriced, rotten vegetables. Used to be a real good value on sake but, they raised the prices to over msrp. Too bad

Great place, had Ramune, pocky, hello panda and all my Japanese goodie fixes. I saw a magazine section, but I barely know two words in Japanese, and I couldn't read them. Do they carry CoroCoro or ASCII? Any magazines that cover Manga, Anime, pop culture, tech, etc in Japan is fine.
