It's a little pricey for what you get, but the food is decent. They do izakaya.

First bad meal I have had in the neighborhood. The portion was large and the service was good, but the fish was not very good and I had several chewy or unpleasant bites. The tamagoyaki was pretty tasty, but I didn't enjoy the meal overall.

Ok, I LOVE THIS PLACE, so I am a bit biased. I started going here in 1999, move out of state in 2005, now back, and PROUD to say that it IS the same Aoki of old. My husband, who lived in Japan for a while, found that Aoki is one of the very few places that had certain true Japanese food items. It is owned, managed, and run by Japanese people, which is certainly not true of most sushi places here in Seattle. The fish is ALWAYS fresh. The staff is always helpful and friendly. It seems that it's popularity has gone down some, but the quality is still great. Seriously, I could eat here 4 nights a week (and was known to do so "back in the day"). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Just grateful that my daughter can go there, practice her limited Japanese, and enjoy some of my favorite food in the whole wide world (and I've travelled and lived a ton of places, so this says a lot!).

I am a sushi fanatic. New York, San Francisco, Boston, and a hundred other cites throughout the U.S. and Europe - there is NO better sushi.

The staff is not only competent and attending, they are beautiful, happy, and content.

This shows that the owner has a depth, intelligence, and understanding of what it is to be a leader and owner.

Not the only place in Seattle to go for sushi, but by far the finest.
