Pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Attentive wait staff, great food, and varied drink selection. Live music, patio seating, and inside tables. Very popular on Friday and Saturday nights. An interesting place to sit outside and watch the people on the 16th Street mall pass by.

– I don’t remember much about this place, since it was my first dinner on my first night in Denver over 2 weeks ago; however, I do remember loving my sandwich that had some meat (turkey?) cheese and other ingredients in between two buttery, delicious jalapeno toast slices. Okay beers on tap, but nothing noteworthy. Not one of the most memorable establishments, but if you run out of truly awesome places to eat in Denver, give this place a go. 3 stars.

Stopped here for drinks one afternoon, very fun place. Sat at the bar, the bartender was really nice and provided some awesome recommendations.

I'll begin by saying that the service was excellent. The waitress was friendly, attentive and prompt. Now I'm all out of good things to say. Many of the other reviews focus on what a fun place Appaloosa Grill is at night and on the weekends, and maybe that's true. I went at lunchtime to get food, however, and as a restaurant, this place is low-grade chow at a high-grade price. I ordered the burger, which the menu bragged nicely on, with the side salad instead of fries. The "salad" contained no vegetable that wasn't in leaf form - not so much as a token tomato, bell pepper, or slice of cucumber. Not even so much as a sliver of carrot. Just greens and a bit of purple cabbage ... a base to put a salad ON, to be sure, but no salad on its own. The burger was dry, mealy, lukewarm and flavorless. The veggies on the burger were good and fresh - a far better "salad" than the alleged side order could manage. The bun was weak, without flavor, character or backbone ... the kind of bread baked for the elderly, who have only their gums to chew with ... and was collapsing into pasty bread-sludge on the bottom before I could even take my first bite. With a soda and a modest tip, this fancy feast cost me nearly $20. Must've been for the pretentious square plate (because round plates are so *common,* don't you know). If you're one of those who blissfully assumes that price equals quality, eat here, where the prices are plentiful and deluxe. And, perhaps, if you're into a fun place on nights and weekends, Appaloosa is for you. But if you want actual food, steer clear of this soulless yuppie-trap.

My family and I had a really disappointing experience. I ordered my brunch about 10 minutes after my family did since I was parking the car. Their food came out first of course and I was assured mine was shortly behind. Well, 30 minutes later my family had finished eating and I still didn't have my meal. Our waitress kept assuring us that it was on the way. Finally, when it did come out it was not what I had ordered. They did comp my dish but still a very unfortunate experience and we won't be going back. The food was mediocre and they were not busy so no excuse to lose my ticket.
