Hi

So I'm in LA for vacation and I heard about that restaurant burger on Instagram. Burgers looked so tasty ! and it's just 10 min from my place.

When i entered at 2:35, the place was full and the waiters were in a hury. But we could understand ; the place is now famous and everybody want to taste their burgers and apple pie.

I took a hamburger with tomatoe sauce, laitue, steak, and extra cheddar (don't remember the name's burger, the price was $8.75 though). Very TASTY, delicious, etc....
However the waiter forgot my french fries (but I didn't ask for them). In fact french fries aren't included - I think - with burgers. Or maybe the waiter was too busy and overburden with all the customers (approximately 2 waiters for everybody).

Apple pie was yummy : there is cinnamon, apples are almost like compote... You need to get it !

Finally, I HIGHLY recommend this place : it's a must if you're a fan of hamburgers and above all APPLE PIES.

Enjoy your future meal ;)

PS : Sorry for some mistakes, I'm french.

I've been eating here for 53 years. Nothing has changed. The counter guys have been there for years.

The burgers taste the same. The hickory burger is my favorite. I've tried to duplicate the sauce. I can't. I now live 14 hour drive instead of 5 minutes. But when I'm close I always make the pilgrimage.

Top five in the country.

I can't remember the 1st time I ate here but I think my parents brought me here!!! When I met my husband, I introduced him and we love both the burgers but I am more partial to BBQ sauce. The tuna is killer too and the pies are delish as well!!! Burgers are just about my favorite food there is and it's too bad it's Monday as they are closed today!!!

"It's a Los Angeles landmark!"
"It's one of the best burgers!"
Both of these things you will hear about The Apple Pan. I didn't think it was all that amazing of a burger though. I think this is a fun place to go to once if you don't live or work near by but I wouldn't seek it out for a second unless I were already close by.

Apple Pan is this hamburger joint in LA with legendary status. Apple Pan is famous for its hickory burger and apple pie. Add to the fact, it's been around since 1947, that's around the time when my parents were born.

The uniqueness of this hamburger joint starts from how it's laid out. It has this station island where they flip burger patties and buns. Outer part of island is the u-shape counter where customers sit on high stools to enjoy their burgers. In between the station and the counter is where servers take orders and serve you food with minimum distance to travel. All corners of the restaurants are for people waiting to find stools to sit. There is no waiting list.

Besides from the interesting restaurant layout and the hickory burger, Apple Pan isn't that impressive. Burgers and fries were over priced and overrated. 3 burgers, 1 fries, 2 drinks, adding tax and tip cost me grand total of $30.
