Applebee's, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Family Style Restaurant Details

Food is OK but the staff is terrible, they rarely check on you and often mess up the order.

we waited for over 15 min to be served once he came he threw napkins at my kids, they claimed that they didnt see us sitting in a booth they put us in. horrible customer service will never be bac to thus location EVER

The server was ok. Had a weird start after asking if we could go right to an empty looking bar booth and the hostess went to check. She then had a conversation for at least 2-3 minutes with another worker who I presume was a manager due to her being older than the average server and dressed differently than the rest. Hostess made eye contact with me a dozen times across the bar and kept right on talking. I presumed we couldn't sit there for some reason...it seems she would've given us a nod....a head shake....anything. But instead just gave kept chatting and shooting blank looks until after a long time the 2 of them finally bussed the table, which we didn't realize there were plates on there. The hostess finally came back and got us with a look on her face as if I had done something wrong by asking to sit in the bar. We did not feel welcome whatsoever. (If that other person was the manager she is not a good one, as she walked past our table half a dozen times in total and never batted an eye).

As far as the food, it was tasty. Burgers and chicken fingers for 2 kids, one Asian salad and one bourbon street steak for the adults. Water only to drink. The portions were way too small for the price of almost $60. That's with just chips/salsa to start and water to drink. The chips were too moist and also bland. The portions were a little too small to satisfy, and way too small for that price. It would've been 65.00+ if we had cokes or a beer. The kids food was similar to Sonic for twice the cost. My old favorite steak was about a 6 oz Chuck (website says 9oz, but I prepare 6oz steak and chicken meals weekly and there's no way that was 9oz) and it came with a tiny portion of wrinkled mushrooms and wet onion slices, and even smaller portion of cut potatoes for $16. The Asian salad was about 8 inches across and only an inch deep--side salad size in many places. I haven't been to Applebee's in quite a while but used to eat there maybe monthly. Except for the chips/salsa, the taste and quality were fine, but we were disappointed at the small portions relative to the bigger prices. Between our 4 examples and seeing what others were eating, it's clear this is across the menu. The biggest value here was the kids got free refills on fries. Too bad, as Applebees used to be a good value. I won't be returning any time soon. Pretty sad when an old favorite bar & grill leaves you wishing you'd just gone to IHOP or Denny's.....

Waitress checked on us often and was urgent but the atmosphere was very dark and the food we ordered was very small portioned, my nachos were mostly chips and lettuce and barely any cheese or brisket and barely portioned, the sweet potato fries were good but small potion as well your better off going to fast food rather than this place nothing but overpriced food also got a rack of ribs and they were the babies ribs I've ever seen look like they came off a chihuahua dog don't waste your time!!!

Every time I try to give this place another chance I really regret it. I've tried to use their Car side to go feature 3 times and something different happens every time. First, they came out to the car and it went smooth. The second, they claimed they didn't do that. And the third time (I tried again because they had the option online when I was ordering), I called them and they said that they only do it after 4pm??? and guess what time it was... 3:55pm!!! So I had to go inside, I tried to get the workers attention to tell them I was the to go order but they just passed right by me. I found it ironic that I was standing under a sign reminding the workers to serve the to go orders within 15 seconds of them entering the restaurant... I WAS THERE FOR 15 MINUTES before someone asked "Have you been helped?". Then they sent me to the bar??? Well, thank God I left my Toddler and Newborn with their Daddy at home. While I was uncomfortably waiting at the bar the workers claimed that I never ordered from them because they couldn't find my order. If I hadn't already paid online I would have left... Finally they found my name... Because they were looking for my last name instead of my first name? I told them my full name and they still couldn't figure it out. The workers are SO RUDE and IMPATIENT with you, and if THEY screw up it ends up being your fault.

The manager got back to us and gave us a 20$ gift card (I am going to use it at another location). So I gave it 3 stars instead of 1. I can say that their manager is nice at least. However, I will still leave my comment about what happened before because I'm sure the carside to go is still like that. Just beware when going here.
