Food:

The "varied menu" at this Edina "hidden Italian gem" makes it a "great place to wow out-of-towners", as does the "charming decor" and service that's "attentive but not overbearing"; a no-reservations policy and space that's "on the small side" may result in "long waits", but overall, a moderately priced meal here is a "feel-good experience."

Great authentic Italian food with good sized portions. I would definitely recommend!

Extensive wine menu. Food better than average, but not memorable. Nice ambience. Service rushed but very good. Nice all around. Still looking for a knock-out Italian restaurant in Minneapolis. Until I find it, this one is fine.

An authentic Italian restaurant. I repeat...not an Americanized Italian menu. No kids menu but still kid friendly. The whole family enjoyed our meal. Everything was excellent. Just like my Grandma used to make!!!

The food and ambience were fantastic, as other posters have noted. We had a problem with the speed of service. We were seated almost immediately but it took a while before someone came and took our drink orders. Even after our orders were placed, it took a long time to get them. We could even see that the bartender had already prepared them - they were sitting on the counter but no one was delivering them. We were contemplating walking up and getting them ourselves when a manager noticed we had been sitting there at an empty table for a long time and brought us our drinks. All told, it was about 30-35 minutes between being seated and getting our drinks / placing our food order.

From the other reviews, I'm guessing we went on a bad night - perhaps a server called in sick and left them shorthanded. The food was quite good, so we'd be willing to give them another chance and on that basis I'm giving them 4 stars when I was inclined to give 3.
