My friend raves about this place and we finally made it out here after talking about it for a year. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. Maybe he oversold it to me but otherwise, I thought it was too pricey for the quantity and quality of food.

We got the following:
- ankimo appetizer
- live scallop sashimi
- toro sushi
- anago sushi
- hamachi mango roll

All this came out to be a $75 bill. The most egregious was $20 for the live scallop. It was really just one scallop, thiiiiiiinly sliced into 8 pieces. Not worth 20 bucks seriously.

Objectively, the ankimo and toro were pretty good. Anago was okay. Hamachi mango roll was okay. The best part of it was the asparagus, but otherwise the hamachi and mango were lackluster.

It's a friendly place - both the chefs and waitresses were very nice and attentive. However, for better sushi at a better price, I recommend Kazu or Wild Sushi in the Sunset, or Yuubi in the Richmond.

Congratulations, you've stumbled upon one of the best sushi places in the city. What sets it apart? Some of the freshest fish I think I've ever had.

When half the fish on a menu is listed as available seasonally only you know it's going to be fresh. And it really really is.

In fact the fish is so high quality here that I'd suggest not even bothering getting the rolls, just stick with nigiri or even sashimi. Let the fish speak for itself.

And the service was just incredible. Far faster and more attentive than I've come to expect from eating out in SF.

5 stars in every way possible.

Their maguro mango and hamachi mango rolls are culinary delights to die for! We keep coming back to this place over and over again, despite not living in the area. It can get a little packed around dinner time (it's both a very tiny and popular place), and when full, you may want to sit at the bar or be a noisy customer, unless you have an extra hour to spare -- getting your order can take a very long time around peak hours.
