Arturo's Pizza, Bronx, New York, Pizza Restaurant Details

Not sure why people are claiming this to be the best in the Bronx. Its not even the best in the area. It was dirty, but that doesn't surprise or bother me. Its in a great location right over the bridge, but its mediocre at best. The crust doesn't have any flavor to it. They cook it on a screen which takes away a lot of the crispness it might have if they cooked it on the oven floor. The cheese is overwhelming and below average. The sauce was too sweet and overspiced. I thought about giving this 2 stars, but this things was just nasty, let alone a noteworthy slice joint.

Hell, we grew up in this spot. Not the best in NYC, but the owner (Artie) is hilarious and a flirt (leave your girl outside because she will get hit on, lol). Kidding...sort of. Just a friendly neighborhood pizza shop. Sucks that they took out then arcade machines, but it was keeping the trash hanging around. Respect to Artie and family!

Ever since I moved to this neighborhood this is my go - to place for pizza. We get pies delivered from this place or just stop by for a slice. I have no idea what the other people are talking about, their reviews were from over a year ago, but ever since I've been around (about 5 years now) the pizza has been absolutely great. It's amazing. The slices aren't exactly cheap but they are BIG. Overall this is a fine place to go eat pizza, don't be intimidated by the lackluster decor. The quality of this place is in the pizza. It's good. Trust me.
