Excellent pasta, some of the best italian food in DC.

Excellent Consistent Friendly! A definitive standard. In addition, they have amazing pizzas. Far better than Comet.

We ended up here after some other more interesting spots in the neighborhood had too long a wait. The service was friendly but slow. The downstairs space was energetic with an older crowd. We were seated in the small upstairs. They did have high chairs but did not seem to have a kids menu or crayons. The pizza was not that exciting. The pasta dishes were ok but nothing amazing. It's fine for an Italian spot in the neighborhood but not a destination.

Something needs to be done about the headwaiter @ Arucola! He has turned sour over the years and seems to be very unhappy at his job. He is rude to customers but particularly rude to the spanish-speaking staff. I have witnessed so many of his rude comments and angry ordering around that I've decided that even though I do like the food, I will not set foot there any longer.
