Be very specific when you order, otherwise you may wait a very long time. The food is good,,,not great. A reasonable price for the food though. Overall ---not bad.

I just finished eating my takeout order and could not wait to write a review of this place. There really is no good asian food in Maine, if you have had the pleasure of eating Chinese, Japanese, or Thai food in any major metropolitan area of the US. It just doesn't compare.

Anyway, back to Asian Garden...

I ordered online, and arrived less than half an hour later at the restaurant, where the food was waiting for me. The woman who gave me the food could have been a little friendlier, and the interior could be less generic, but if you are ordering takeout, who cares?

The squid salad was out of this world. The description was lacking, so I didn't know what to expect and I was more than pleasantly surprised by the flavors and textures. Superb. The miso soup was miso soup... You really have to try pretty hard to screw that up, and luckily for me, they got it right. The last item I tried was the General T's chicken. It was good. It didn't blow me away, but it wasn't bad and it had all the right elements to it. I think if I had tried it before the amazing squid salad I would have liked it better. I think my tastebuds were so over-tantalized by the squid salad, that my expectations were too high by the time I got to the General's chicken. Oh, I almost forgot, the crab rangoons were everything you want in a crab rangoon.

This place really surprised me. In Maine, I have only had better asian food at Kon in Westbrook. However, I do not recommend Kon if you care about human rights... they are embroiled in a federal lawsuit due to their human trafficking activities. Bad people...please don't support them!

I highly recommend this place! And it is worth noting that the prices were fair and portion sizes were generous! Thank you Asian Garden! High five!

This restaurant bills itself as "Chinese, Japanese & Thai". It's okay for all 3, but doesn't quite hit the mark for each one. You get better food at a place that focuses on 1 of them. I really wish they would start deliveries. If one wants Asian food and find themselves right there, it will do.
