04/08/2015 1:37 pmWe tried this restaurant last weekend. The food is very good but the service was OK. We went for a late lunch when there were only two other guests at the hotel. The staff seemed inattentive, mostly standing in a corner chatting with other staff or checking their phones. The food though was really good and so was the coffee. i would come back |

12/10/2014 10:19 pmThe injera here tasted fresh (not that I can say with any authority what freshness in an injera consists of), and the dishes served were flavorful without being overwhelming. There was also very little grease in the dish, making it easier for us to eat more of the food than I would normally be able to handle in, say, an indian or afghan dish. For $30, we had enough food for 2 people plus extra to take home and continue our experience in a second meal! |

09/03/2014 12:02 amI absolutely love this place. The 'vegetable combination' is among the most satisfying meals I've ever had; and they are VERY consistent. I mean spanning 25 years, they are invariably great. |

05/25/2014 9:35 pmThe atmosphere is nice, but the food has no spice. If you are used to authentic Abesha food, try another location. If you are are entertaining family from the midwest who've never had spices, and want to break them in slowly, this is the right place to go. |

10/13/2015 3:06 pmBecome a "connoisseur of Ethiopian cuisine" while scooping up "delicious, inexpensive" specialties with "wonderfully textured" injera bread at this "friendly" Oakland "favorite"; some caution one room is "romantic" but the other is "cafeterialike", so for "intimate" dining, choose accordingly (and don't miss the "addictive" honey wine). |
